浄智寺と北鎌倉を歩く | 緑に包まれた禅寺 | Jochiji Temple | Kita-Kamakura

北鎌倉散策で最後に訪れたのは、浄智寺です。

浄智寺は、鎌倉市北部の緑豊かな谷あいにたたずむ臨済宗円覚寺派の禅寺です。１３世紀末、若くして亡くなった北条宗政の菩提を弔うため、妻と兄・北条時宗によって創建されました。

鐘楼門をくぐると、たくさんのツツジを背景にした石造りのベンチが目に留まりました。

The last place I visited during my walk around Kita-Kamakura was Jochiji Temple.

Jochiji Temple is a Zen temple of the Engaku-ji branch of the Rinzai school, nestled in a lush valley in the northern part of Kamakura. It was founded in the late 13th century by Hōjō Tokimune and the wife of his younger brother, Hōjō Munemasa, to honor Munemasa, who passed away at a young age.

As I passed through the temple’s bell tower gate, a stone bench set against a backdrop of blooming azaleas immediately caught my eye.

本堂の横にある、何気ない一角に惹かれました。

そこには木が立ち、その周りにはやわらかな光が落ちていました。

I was drawn to an unassuming corner beside the main hall.

There was a tree there, and soft light fell gently around it.

もっと近くから撮ってみました。幹から伸びる葉が、生き生きとしていましたね。

山門へ戻る途中、可愛らしいホタルブクロを見つけました。

On my way back to the temple gate, I found some lovely bellflowers.

今回訪れたのは２回目でしたが、前回は１０年前のことだったので、ほとんど初めて訪れたような感覚でした。

訪れたのは６月に入ったばかりの頃で、梅雨入り前の強い日差しが降り注ぎ、初夏らしい暑さを感じる一日でした。

四季折々の自然が楽しめるお寺でもあるので、北鎌倉を訪れる機会があれば、ぜひ立ち寄ってみてください。

Although this was my second visit, my first one was ten years ago, so it almost felt like I was visiting for the first time.

I visited in early June, just before the rainy season. The strong sunshine and early summer heat made the day especially memorable.
