色とりどりの牡丹を巡って｜鶴岡八幡宮 神苑ぼたん庭園 | Peony Garden at Tsurugaoka Hachimangu

前回に引き続き、今回は牡丹をより近くで撮影した様子をご紹介していこうと思います。

こちらは、蕾にフォーカスして撮影した一枚です。

花弁が少し白飛びしてしまいましたが、日陰に差し込む光によって、淡いピンク色の花弁と蕾のやわらかな質感が感じられます。

Continuing from the previous post, this time I would like to share some photographs of peonies captured from a closer perspective.

This photograph focuses on a flower bud.

Although some parts of the petals became slightly overexposed, the light filtering into the shade gently reveals the soft texture of the pale pink petals and the bud.

黄色い牡丹の花が縦に並ぶように咲いていました。

少し花の位置がずれていたら、また違ったバランスになっていたのかもしれません。

それでも、爽やかな黄色の色合いが印象的で、今回の牡丹撮影の中では特に心に残った花です。

Yellow peony flowers were blooming in a vertical arrangement.

If the positions of the flowers had been slightly different, the balance of the photograph might have felt different as well.

Even so, the refreshing yellow tones were especially striking, making this one of the most memorable flowers from this peony photography session.

こちらは、日当たりの良い場所で撮影した一枚です。

実際に見えている明るさに露出を合わせると、逆光によって牡丹が白飛びしたように明るくなってしまい、逆に露出を下げると、写真全体が暗くなりすぎて牡丹の存在がわかりにくくなってしまう状況でした。

一般的には、あまり綺麗な写りとは言い難いかもしれません。

それでも今回は、カメラでは白飛びしたような写りになってしまう明るさも含めて、その場の光の明るさを優先して撮影しています。

奥の影の部分から、浮かび上がるように紫の牡丹が咲いていました。

周囲の暗さがあることで、かえって牡丹の存在感が際立っているようにも感じます。

自分としては、その影の部分がどこか鏡のようにも見えました。

This photograph was taken in a spot with strong sunlight.

When I adjusted the exposure to match the actual brightness of the scene, the backlighting caused the peonies to appear overly bright, almost as if they were overexposed. On the other hand, lowering the exposure made the entire photograph too dark, making the peonies themselves difficult to distinguish.

In a general sense, it may not be considered a particularly “beautiful” photograph.

Even so, for this image, I chose to prioritize the brightness of the light in that moment, including the way the camera rendered the scene with an overexposed appearance.

From the darker area in the background, a purple peony seemed to quietly emerge into view.

The surrounding darkness almost enhances the presence of the flower itself.

To me, the shadowed area also looked somewhat like a mirror.

白い牡丹は、今回たくさん撮影したので、厳選したものをご紹介していこうと思います。

まずは、牡丹を上から撮影してみました。

中心から外側へ向かって、幾重にも重なりながら広がっていく花弁が、とても華やかな印象でした。

I took many photographs of white peonies this time, so I would like to share a selection of carefully chosen ones.

First, I photographed a peony from above.

The petals, layered repeatedly as they spread outward from the center, created a very elegant and striking impression.

横から、牡丹の花と茎の部分を含めて撮影しました。

先ほどよりも花弁に自然に光が当たり、牡丹のやわらかな雰囲気が伝わる一枚になりました。

I photographed the peony from the side, including both the flower and its stem.

Compared to the previous shot, the petals were lit more naturally by the light, resulting in an image that conveys the peony’s soft and gentle atmosphere.

最後は、写真全体は暗めですが、その中にある仄かな光と柔らかな花弁が印象的でした。

ただ静かに咲く牡丹の様子が、気持ちを穏やかにしてくれます。

Finally, although the overall image is rather dark, the faint light within it and the soft petals were particularly striking.

The quietly blooming peony has a calming effect on the mind.

牡丹は花の部分が大きく華やかな一方で、茎や葉は落ち着いた印象なので、どのようなバランスで写真に収めるのが良いのか、悩む場面も多くありました。

たくさん撮影を試みることができたので、また撮影する機会があれば活かしていきたいと思います。

Peonies have large and visually striking flowers, while their stems and leaves carry a more subdued impression. Because of this contrast, I often found myself unsure of how best to balance them within the frame.

I was able to try photographing them in many different ways, and I hope to make use of this experience in future shoots.
