Yokohama Children’s Botanical Garden
Hello.
On my previous visit to Nagakubo Park, I was disappointed to find that the fragrant olive flowers had already fallen.
But I wasn’t ready to give up, so next I headed to the Yokohama Children’s Botanical Garden.
I entered through the main entrance and continued walking toward the fragrant olive trees in the plaza in front of the office.
It rained steadily throughout the day.
After walking for a while, the office building came into view.
There were fragrant olive trees there, but since they had bloomed early and had also been affected by the typhoon, many of the flowers had fallen.
Still, some were still in bloom, so I decided to try taking some photos.
I was able to capture the fragrant olive in its natural state, including the flowers that had begun to wither.

After I finished photographing the fragrant olive, I walked a little further and decided to take a look at the plants in the greenhouse.
Inside, there were many cacti.
Among them was a round cactus called Bunchomaru.

There were two greenhouses, and after looking at the cacti, I went into the other one.

This is a colorful pitcher plant, a carnivorous plant with a somewhat striking and sinister appearance.

After coming all this way, I was happy to finally find the fragrant olive in bloom.
Next year, I hope to photograph it when the flowers are at their best.
The Yokohama Children’s Botanical Garden is very large, and since it was raining that day, I wasn’t able to take my time exploring it.
I think it would be a wonderful place to enjoy nature at a more relaxed pace on a sunny day, so if you’re ever nearby, I hope you’ll take some time to enjoy the flowers and plants throughout the garden.
See you in the next post.
