Raindrops and Morning Glories | Nagakubo Park in the Rain
Hello.
In my previous blog post, I couldn’t find any fragrant olive flowers, so this time I went out for the whole day to look for them.
Of course, I only had until it got dark. And on top of that, it was raining that day.
But once I thought that taking photos in the rain might be fun, I started to enjoy myself and felt even more motivated.
The first place I visited was Nagakubo Park in Fujisawa.
I entered the Greenery Consultation Center in the park and picked up a map first.
It looked like there were some fragrant olive trees around the Fragrance Forest, so I headed there.
The rain wasn’t heavy, but it was definitely coming down.
This time, I decided to focus mainly on raindrops resting on plant leaves.

A white rose blooming among reddish-purple leaves. The petals, wet with raindrops and softened at the edges, create a quiet, gentle feeling of autumn.

Next to it, blue salvia is in bloom.
Plump raindrops rest on the petals.

I arrived at the Fragrance Forest.
There weren’t any flowers in bloom. It seems the flowers had fallen because of the typhoon the other day.
I decided to give up on finding the fragrant olive flowers for now and take a look at some of the other plants.
I came across a karigane-so with small flowers.
Karigane-so is said to bloom from around August to October. Since it is a plant that can be enjoyed during the transition from summer to autumn, I was happy to come across it at just the right time.

After walking for a while, I made my way toward the botanical area.
What caught my eye was a morning glory with large petals spread open in the rain.

When I focused on the raindrops, I found a different scene reflected inside them.
Even in the rain, the blue-violet petals remained vivid, and the raindrops gave them a soft, lustrous beauty.

I made my way back to the area around the Greenery Consultation Center.
Surrounded by plants and flowers, I came across a chair wet from the rain.

The stems of the water pepper are covered with tiny red flowers and many raindrops.

This time, I happened to take photos on a rainy day, and I found a different kind of beauty in the plants compared to those on a sunny day.
The rain-soaked plants seemed to have a soothing quality, making me feel as though I was seeing their natural forms up close through the raindrops.
In the end, I couldn’t find any fragrant olive flowers here, so I’m heading to the next place.
See you in the next post.
