荻外荘（近衛文麿旧宅）| 中国風の照明と螺鈿細工の応接室 | Tekigaiso | Reception Room with Chinese-style Lighting and Mother-of-Pearl Inlay

前回は、荻窪会談の舞台となった客間を紹介させていただきました。

今回は、中国風の意匠でまとめられた応接室を覗いてみます。

まずは天井を見上げると、中華風の照明と、龍が描かれた４枚の天井画が目に入ります。

In my previous post, I introduced the guest room that served as the setting for the Ogikubo Conference.

This time, let’s take a look inside the reception room, decorated with Chinese-inspired motifs.

Looking up at the ceiling, you can see Chinese-style light fixtures and four ceiling paintings depicting dragons.

照明は提灯を思わせる、温かみのある光を感じさせます。

The lighting evokes the warmth of traditional paper lanterns.

室内には、壺や食器類が飾られています。
わかりにくいですが、壁にも植物を思わせるような模様が描かれています。

Vases and tableware are displayed in the room.
Although it is difficult to see, the walls are also decorated with patterns reminiscent of plants.

テーブルや椅子には、螺鈿細工が施されており、細かな装飾が印象的です。

The tables and chairs are adorned with mother-of-pearl inlay, and the intricate details are particularly striking.

今回は、螺鈿細工が施されたテーブルや椅子に圧倒されました。
日常で過ごしていても、なかなかお目にかかることがないので、とても質の良いものを見ることができた気がします。

荻外荘には、ほかにも和室など、ブログではまだ紹介していない場所があります。ぜひ気になる方は、足を運んでみてください。

荻外荘展示棟では、期間限定でかき氷も食べられるようです。ちなみに私も見学を終えた後にかき氷を食べましたが、真夏の日だったので、生き返るような美味しさでした。

This time, I was struck by the tables and chairs adorned with mother-of-pearl inlay.
It is not something you often come across in everyday life, so I felt that I had the opportunity to see some truly fine craftsmanship.

There are also other areas of Tekigaiso, such as Japanese-style rooms, that I have not yet introduced on my blog. If you are interested, I encourage you to visit and see them for yourself.

At the Tekigaiso Exhibition Building, shaved ice is also available for a limited time. I had some after finishing my visit, and since it was a midsummer day, it was so delicious that I felt completely revived.
