東京藝術大学の赤レンガ１号館と２号館 | 東京建築祭 | Red Brick Buildings No.1 & No.2 | Tokyo University of the Arts

こんにちは。

先月は、東京建築祭を訪れ、東京に残るさまざまな建築を見学してきました。

普段は公開されていない建物の内部も見学できるイベントだったため、この日は朝から出掛けて３ヶ所を巡る予定でした。

まず訪れたのは、東京藝術大学です。

正門から入ってすぐ左手に、赤レンガ１号館と２号館が建っています。

午前１０時の公開開始に合わせて到着しましたが、すでに多くの来場者が集まっており、内部見学の列ができていました。

さらに、見学まで１時間ほど待つ必要があるとのアナウンスが流れていました。

私は待つのがあまり得意ではなく、この日はほかにも訪れたい場所があったため、残念ながら内部見学は断念することにしました。

今回は外観のみの紹介になりますが、ご覧いただければと思います。


建物全体は古く、ところどころに欠けている部分も見られました。

しかし、歴史を感じさせる建物でありながら、現在も現役で使用されています。

また、この建物は東京最古の煉瓦建築ともいわれています。

Last month, I visited the Tokyo Architecture Festival and explored a variety of historic buildings that remain in Tokyo.

Since the event offered a rare opportunity to see the interiors of buildings that are not usually open to the public, I planned to visit three locations that day.

The first place I visited was Tokyo University of the Arts.

After passing through the main gate, the Red Brick Buildings No.1 and No.2 can be found on the left.

I arrived in time for the 10:00 a.m. opening, but many visitors had already gathered, and a long line had formed for the interior tour.

An announcement stated that the wait time would be about an hour.

As I am not very good at waiting and had other places I wanted to visit that day, I reluctantly decided to skip the interior tour.

Although this article only introduces the exterior of the buildings, I hope you enjoy it.


The buildings are quite old, and some parts of them appeared chipped or worn.

However, despite their historic appearance, they are still actively used today.

The buildings are also said to be the oldest brick structures in Tokyo.

少し離れた場所から全体を撮影してみました。

I took a photo of the buildings from a little farther away to capture the overall view.

この日は空が曇っていました。

晴れた日だと、また違った印象だったかもしれません。

建物を一周して撮影したものの、外観のみだったので意外と早く見終わってしまいました。

内部見学を諦めたこともあり、もう一度建物の周りを歩きながら撮影してみました。

外観では窓や煉瓦くらいしか撮影できなかったため、今回は窓の写真が多くなっています。

The sky was cloudy that day.

On a sunny day, the buildings might have given a different impression.

Although I walked around the buildings and took some photos, I finished viewing them sooner than expected since I was only photographing the exterior.

Since I had decided not to join the interior tour, I walked around the buildings once more and continued taking photographs.

As there was not much to photograph on the exterior besides the windows and brickwork, this post contains quite a few photos of the windows.

入り口の照明も撮影してみました。

I also photographed the lighting at the entrance.

窓を撮影してみました。正面から撮影したため、平面的な印象になっています。

I photographed one of the windows. Since it was taken from directly in front, the image has a rather flat appearance.

今回は内部見学ができなかったのは残念でしたが、外観だけでも貴重な建築物なので、写真に収めることができて良かったです。

次は電車で移動して、二つ目の建築物を撮影しに行きます。

Although I was disappointed that I could not join the interior tour, I was glad to have the opportunity to photograph these historic buildings, even if only from the outside.

Next, I will take the train to photograph the second building on my itinerary.
