荻外荘（近衛文麿旧宅）を訪れる | Visiting Tekigaiso

７月に入り、都内の荻窪駅から徒歩約１５分の場所にある「荻外荘（てきがいそう）」を訪れました。

荻外荘は１９２７年（昭和２年）に建てられた歴史ある建物です。もともとは医学者・入澤達吉の別邸として建てられ、その後、政治家・近衛文麿の邸宅となりました。

昭和戦前期には、日本の政治を左右する重要な会談が開かれた場所として知られ、現在は国の史跡に指定されています。

梅雨明け後、初めての遠出だったこともあり、朝から強い日差しが照りつけ、到着する頃にはすっかり疲れてしまいました。

まずは建物に入る前に、外観を撮影することにしました。

現在の出入口とは反対側へ回ると、本来の玄関や客間、食堂があった部分を外から眺めることができます。

In July, I visited Tekigaiso, located about a 15-minute walk from Ogikubo Station in Tokyo.

Built in 1927, Tekigaiso is a historic residence. It was originally constructed as the villa of physician Tatsukichi Irisawa before later becoming the home of politician Fumimaro Konoe.

During the prewar Shōwa period, it became known as the site of important political meetings that influenced Japan’s future. Today, it is designated as a National Historic Site.

As it was my first day trip after the end of the rainy season, the strong summer sunshine had already made the walk quite tiring by the time I arrived.

Before going inside, I decided to take a few photographs of the building’s exterior.

Walking around to the opposite side of the current entrance, I was able to see the original main entrance, as well as the former reception rooms and dining room, from outside.

出入口付近には青々とした草木が広がり、その間から夏の日差しが差し込んでいました。暑さの中にも、どこか爽やかな空気が感じられました。

Lush green plants surrounded the entrance, with the summer sunlight filtering gently through the foliage. Despite the heat, there was a refreshing atmosphere in the air.
