横浜・大倉山記念館を訪れて｜建築と広場の風景 | Okurayama Memorial Hall | Architecture & Grounds

こんにちは。

今回は、横浜にある大倉山記念館を訪れてきました。

１回目は、主に建物の外観やその周辺を撮影した様子を、２回目は、建物の中をご紹介していこうと思います。

大倉山記念館は、実業家で後に東洋大学の学長も務めた大倉邦彦（１８８２–１９７１）が、１９３２年（昭和７年）に「大倉精神文化研究所」の本館として建てた建物です。

大倉山記念館は大倉山公園の中に建っています。
公園は広く、散策にはちょうど良さそうな場所です。

この日は時間がなかったので、公園内は散策せず、そのまま建物へ向かいました。

This time, I visited the Okurayama Memorial Hall in Yokohama.

In the first part, I will mainly show the exterior of the building and its surroundings, and in the second part, I will introduce the inside of the building.

Okurayama Memorial Hall was built in 1932 as the main building of the Okura Institute for Spiritual Culture by the businessman Kunihiko Okura (1882–1971), who later served as the president of Toyo University.

The hall stands within Okurayama Park.
The park is quite spacious and seems like a pleasant place for a walk.

Since I didn’t have much time that day, I didn’t explore the park and headed straight to the building.

建物が見えてきました。

The building started to come into view.

正面の広場には、特徴的なベンチも置かれていました。

There were also some distinctive benches in the plaza at the front of the building.

街灯を撮影してみました。

I tried photographing a streetlight.

正面の階段を上がると、壁と一体になったベンチがありました。

When I went up the front stairs, there was a bench built into the wall.

重厚感のある外観は、とても見応えがありました。

周辺の敷地も広々としていて、また機会があれば公園内を散歩してみたいです。

The exterior had a sense of solidity and was very impressive.

The surrounding grounds were also spacious, and if I have the chance, I would like to take a walk around the park.
