旧大隈重信別邸・旧古河別邸｜室内と光 | Former Okuma & Furukawa Villas, Oiso

こんにちは。

前回訪れた旧島崎藤村邸から少し歩き、明治記念大磯邸園にやってきました。

邸園内には、旧大隈重信別邸と旧古河別邸があります。

今回は、旧大隈重信別邸を見学します。

この建物は明治３０年（１８９７年）に大隈重信が購入した別荘で、書斎として使われた「神代の間」などが現在も残されています。明治時代の大磯の別荘文化を伝える貴重な建築で、２０２０年には大磯町指定有形文化財となりました。


それでは、さっそく中に入ってみます。

廊下には椅子が置かれており、庭園を眺めながらゆっくり過ごせる空間になっていました。

After a short walk from the former residence of Shimazaki Toson, which I visited previously, I arrived at the Meiji Memorial Oiso Residence and Garden.

Within the garden are the Former Okuma Shigenobu Villa and the Former Furukawa Villa.

This time, I will be visiting the Former Okuma Shigenobu Villa.

This villa was purchased by Okuma Shigenobu in 1897 (Meiji 30). Rooms such as the “Jindai-no-Ma,” which was used as his study, still remain today. It is a valuable historic building that conveys the villa culture of Oiso during the Meiji era, and it was designated as a Tangible Cultural Property by Oiso Town in 2020.

Now, let’s step inside.

Chairs are placed along the corridor, creating a space where visitors can relax while enjoying views of the garden.

The light from the lighting fixtures is also beautiful.

畳に座り、部屋から見える庭の景色を眺められるなんて、とても贅沢ですね。
今ではこうした時間を過ごす機会も少なくなりましたが、日本らしい和の趣を感じられるひとときでした。

Being able to sit on tatami mats and gaze out at the garden from the room feels like a true luxury.
Opportunities to spend time like this have become rare today, but it was a moment that allowed me to appreciate the beauty and tranquility of traditional Japanese culture.

ガラス戸から差し込む光が印象的だったので、室内を撮影しました。

The light streaming in through the glass doors was striking, so I photographed the interior.

全体としては、ほかにも多くの部屋がありますが、今回は光が心地よく差し込む場面を中心にご紹介しました。

明治記念大磯邸園はとても広く、散歩がてら訪れるだけでも、普段とは違う暮らしの雰囲気や空気感を味わえると思います。

次回は、すぐ隣にある史跡の建物を訪れてみたいと思います。

While there are many more rooms throughout the villa, this time I focused on scenes filled with soft, natural light.

The Meiji Memorial Oiso Residence and Garden is quite expansive, and even a casual stroll through the grounds offers a chance to experience an atmosphere and way of life different from our everyday surroundings.

Next time, I plan to visit the historic building located right next door.
